Happy New Year?

Much as we try to observe the Christian Year, which begins in Advent, or the Julian calendar, which begins January 1, for most of us the school year is supreme. Vacation schedules and commerce follow quite closely the rhythms of school year. Even Christmas and Easter have come to be observed by the general public as secular holidays corresponding to school holidays more than religious Holy-days.

This not a complaint about the present deterioration of religious consciousness; Rather it is an acknowledgement of life as we find it in these times. I t means something quite a bit more to our St. Martin’s community as it means the return of our students and faculty to our school to begin another wonderful year of learning and growing. It also means the time when most of our members return from time away.

It is also an opportunity to grow in number as well as to grow in grace as many persons and families look for a school or church home. Don’t be shy about letting people know about us! For over half a century, St. Martin’s has been serving God and families in ways for which we can be justifiably proud.

So welcome back all! And isn’t it wonderful that Mrs. Byrnes has accepted being our Head of School!
